Richmond Bridge Club, based in Cambridge Park, Twickenham has raised over £2,000 for local children's charity supporting terminally sick children over the past year.

The club's support for charity 'React' was instigated by manager Richard Banbury, who suggested the club revitalise its support at the beginning of last year, after the club had previously raised thousands for the charity in the mid-2010s through its famous 'Café Bridge' event.

Since the start of 2024, Richmond Bridge Club members have raise an impressive £2,190 through various charity tournaments, collections and donations, which are used to improve the quality of life of terminally ill children.

"Every penny raised makes a difference," says Conor, React's Head of Fundraising.

"The club's support is helping React provide basic, essential equipment to terminally ill children across the UK, who are cared for by financially disadvantaged families.

"React considers any request that isn't available through the local authority. The money raised by the club could be used to purchase anything from specialist car seats, hoists and wheelchairs, to basic necessary items such as sensory toys and baby video monitors.

"What makes the unique, is the rapid response time we offer to families, who have precious little time to get bogged down with red tape and waiting lists.

"We always respond within 48 hours and often the same day for the most urgent requests.

"We are tremendously grateful to every member of Richmond Bridge Club for their fantastic support, which is helping us make our families' lives just that little bit easier."
