Twickenham designer creates FIFA World Cup dress out of 48 nation flags
By Cesar Medina 11th Jun 2026
A designer in Twickenham has unveiled a dress made up of 48 nation flags to mark the start of the FIFA World Cup.
Maggie from Maggie May London put together the World Cup themed dress with flags from every country competing in this year's competition.
The dress, displayed by the window of the Church Street shop, is modelled with a pearl and diamanté necklace and a Palace x Mitre collaboration football.
Maggie told Nub News: "I was always doing a Wimbledon window until the England team was announced and I changed my mind as it just came to me to make a dress out of 48 flags, one for each country.
"I would have liked to remove a flag each time a team went out but that was near impossible so we just have a flag dress with all the teams."
She added: "I love the footie so this was a joy to make!"
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off this evening with Mexico facing South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium.
For the first time ever, the tournament is being co-hosted by three different countries - USA, Mexico and Canada.
