Residents should expect some changes to the way their bins are collected in the coming weeks.

Across the festive period, bins will be collected on different dates to those we are used to throughout the year.

These changes allow for councils to work around the festive bank holidays whilst allowing employees some well earned rest over the holiday.

Richmond Council have announced the following changes to the bin collection schedule:

  • Bin collections on Wednesday, 25 December, will instead be collected on Friday, 27 December
  • Bin collections on Thursday, 26 December, will instead be collected on Saturday, 28 December
  • Bin collections on Friday, 27 December, will instead be collected on Sunday, 29 December
  • Bin collections on Monday, 30 December will remain the same
  • Bin collections on Tuesday, 31 December will remain the same
  • Bin collections on Wednesday, 1 January will instead be collected on Thursday, 2 January
  • Bin collections on Thursday, 2 January will instead be collected on Friday, 3 January
  • Bin collections on Friday, 3 January will instead be collected on Saturday, 4 January

Bulky waste collections will be suspended between Monday, 23 December 2024 and Friday, 3 January 2025.

Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday 6 to Friday 17 January 2025. Collections will resume on Monday, 20 January.

Townmead Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is open throughout the Christmas period, except for Tuesday, 25 and Wednesday, 26 December.

Christmas tree collection service will run from Monday 6 to Friday 17 January 2025, on the garden waste collection day for your street.
