Twickenham MP Munira Wilson has met with South Western Railway's new Managing Director, Lawrence Bowman, to push for improvements to local services.

The meeting took place at Hampton Station, where Ms Wilson also spoke with long-serving station manager Sam Lodge, who is retiring after 40 years of service.

Following the discussion, Ms Wilson said: "I pressed the MD on increasing services on the Shepperton line, especially on Sundays, and the constant delays and cancellations.

"We also discussed reinstating the Hounslow Loop line to improve frequency of services for both St Margarets and Whitton passengers, and getting the Reading service to stop at Whitton."

She added that she was encouraged by Mr Bowman's recognition of the need for better communication with passengers about timetable changes, particularly after disruption over the summer.

"I look forward to seeing the full rollout of the Arterio trains which staff are currently being trained on," Ms Wilson said.
