Twickenham MP visits Fight for Sight’s 'stylish' new charity boutique

Twickenham and Richmond Park MPs Munira Wilson and Sarah Olney dropped in at Fight for Sight's rebranded charity shops to discover their stylish boutique feel and the charity's work.
During her visit on 14 March, Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham Wilson met young volunteers working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award, which resonated with her passion for education.
Wilson said: "Hampton's Fight for Sight shop is a beloved local shop in the heart of our community.
"It was wonderful to meet some of the local volunteers who donate their time, and to speak with staff about Fight for Sight's work to drive social change and raise vital funds for vision loss research."
Formerly Vision Foundation, the shop offers preloved, vintage and designer fashion, as well as hidden gems for the home, with proceeds funding scientific research and social change projects supporting everyone impacted by vision loss.
Locals playfully refer to the shop at Park Gate Court, 66 High Street, Hampton Hill, as 'the Harrods of Hampton'.
The name reflects the quality of stock generously donated by the Hampton community.
On the same day in the afternoon, MP Sarah Olney, the Liberal Democrat MP for Richmond Park, joined staff and volunteers to open Fight for Sight's new boutique on 367 Upper Richmond Road West East Sheen.
The new-look shop offers a selection of curated preloved and vintage clothing, books, entertainment, and more - all with a life-changing vision to 'Save Sight. Change Lives.'
During her visit, Olney joined volunteers sorting donated items and chatted with staff.
She heard how Fight for Sight funds initiatives such as walking groups and parent support networks, which are transforming the lives of people impacted by vision loss.
Olney commented: "Fight for Sight is a fantastic addition to East Sheen's local shopping scene. Not only can you update your wardrobe with unique finds, but your purchases could also support life-changing research in a lab, provide young people access to blind sports initiatives, and much more.
"By simply shopping or donating, you are part of a movement to make a real difference.
"It's inspiring to see this shop's positive impact in the community already."
Every purchase made at Fight for Sight's new shops helps fund innovative research and life-changing projects that support blind and vision impaired people.
With 79p from every item sold contributing to cutting-edge scientific work and social change projects, shoppers will be directly helping to transform lives.
Fight for Sight CEO Keith Valentine, said: "We are delighted to launch Fight for Sight's new-look shops in Hampton Hill and East Sheen and we're truly thrilled that Munira and Sarah were able to join us and meet our wonderful volunteers.
"Every item donated to or bought from the shop will help fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss."
Both shops are open Monday–Saturday (10:00 am–5:00 pm) and Sunday (11:00 am–5:00 pm). Stay updated via Instagram and Facebook.
