Twickenham opticians celebrates 100 years in the community
By Nub News Reporter 20th May 2026
A long-standing Twickenham business is celebrating a major milestone this year after reaching its 100th anniversary.
Robert Frith Optometrists has been serving the local community from the same Heath Road premises since opening in 1926.
The independent opticians said reaching a century in business is an achievement it is "incredibly proud of", thanking local residents and customers for their continued support over the years.
To mark the occasion, the practice is hosting a special centenary open day and evening celebration on Thursday, 18 June.
The event will run throughout the day and into the evening, with patients, customers and local residents invited to join in the celebrations.
Visitors can expect drinks and nibbles, while representatives from Ray-Ban and Oakley will also be attending, offering exclusive discounts on the day and giving visitors the chance to enter a prize draw to win premium sunglasses.
The milestone marks a century of trading in Twickenham and makes Robert Frith one of the borough's long-established independent businesses.
The celebrations will take place at Robert Frith Optometrists on Heath Road on Thursday, 18 June.
