Twickenham road fully closed due to gas works

Twickenham motorists are being warned of increased disruption after emergency gas works escalated to a full road closure.
St Margarets Road is now fully closed outside number 202 as engineers continue repairs to a leaking gas main.
The works are being carried out by Cadent Gas and are expected to continue until 8 April 2026.
The road had previously been operating under a southbound directional closure, but the situation has now been upgraded to a full closure to allow the works to be completed safely.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area where possible and plan alternative routes, with delays likely while the closure remains in place.
