A vape shop in Whitton has submitted a licensing application to extend its trading hours and adjust restrictions on alcohol sales.

Universal Tech & Vape, better known as New Whitton Food & Wine, located on 137 Percy Road is seeking permission to open earlier and sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm daily.

Currently, the vape store opens daily from 10am - 11pm and sells alcohol to be consumed off of the premises daily from 11am - 11pm.

The shop also wishes to amend conditions attached to its existing alcohol licence.

As part of the proposed changes, Universal Tech & Vape has applied to remove two licensing conditions set by Richmond Council:

• Condition 13, which restricts the sale of single beers, lagers or ciders with an alcohol content above 6% ABV.
• Condition 20, which prohibits the sale and display of any single cans or bottles of beer, cider, or lager.

New Whitton Food & Wine has had its premises license in Twickenham since at least 29 May 2024.

Residents and interested parties have until Thursday, 24 April 2025 to submit comments or objections to Richmond Council regarding the application.
