A Twickenham shop has begun fundraising for a free community music festival to be held on Twickenham's Church Street.
Eel Pie Records on Church Street is hoping to run its second High Tide festival this September, but it needs help to get it off the ground.
The first High Tide music festival was run back in 2019 and was described by one attendee as: "the best thing to happen in Twickenham for decades".
The shop says this one will be "bigger and better".
They say: "High Tide will again be a brilliant day of top quality musical entertainment spread over an expanded 10 performance areas.
"It will include nationally known artists like The Desmond Dekker Band feat. Delroy Williams, Binker Golding, Stick In The Wheel, Deschanel Gordon and Salad as well showcasing young artists curated by The Basement Door youth charity."
Local brewers CTZN Brew will be supplying a special High Tide Ale for the day. There will also be street food and drinks stalls.
Last year due to Covid the event couldn't be run, but this year owners Phil and Kevin are determined to get the show back on the road.
Donations will go towards paying the artists, staging and PAs.
Donations of £50 will receive an exclusive design High Tide sponsors T-Shirt.
Donations of £75 will receive an exclusive Errol Linton Print.
Donations of £100 will receive a limited edition black Midi 7" or a unique High Tide Festival mandala print.
Donations of £150 or more will receive a unique Goat Girl mask from 'The Crack'.
Local businesses, the Council, and Discover Twickenham BID have also provided funding to help them on their way.
They say: "It will be a day for the community to come together to smile, dance and enjoy great music.
"And let's face it, we all need more of that after the last 18 months."
About Eel Pie Records
Eel Pie Records started as an ambitious dream that we (Phil and Kevin) had been talking about since the early 2010s.
We had been putting on successful live gigs in the area for a while but wanted to do more and bring a permanent, music based hub to our Twickenham neighbourhood. So after a long search, we found our premises and opened our shop - Eel Pie Records.
Part of our vision was to hold a festival and in 2019, we did it. High Tide Festival happened on 22 June and was amazing. People described it as "the best thing to happen in Twickenham for decades".
