A new Twickenham-based and family-owned outdoor sports company is launching on May 8.

Orca Boards is a new company selling "premium quality inflatable paddle boards and eco-friendly accessories", which aims to minimise its environmental footprint wherever possible.

Its founders Atiqur, his wife Eva, and his brother Russell live near Twickenham Stoop.

Atiqur said they have always been into outdoor and water sports, and have a particular love for orcas and whales.

Atiqur said: "I have been travelling around since my graduation and was lucky enough to go on whale watching tours with friends throughout my travelling.

"I fell in love with the great outdoors and marine animals.

"We believe no animals should be held captive for entertainment purposes.

"Our mission and core values of the business will be 'Planet over profit', and our slogan is: 'Ride The Tide, Take A Green Side'."

The company will plant a tree from each sale with a London-based forest restoration charity, and a portion of its profits will go into marine conservation and ocean clean-up projects. It has also partnered up with Sea Shepherd UK on its river and canal cleaning project.

Orca Boards will donate 5% of its profits to marine conservation efforts with Whale & Dolphin conservation (a charity based in Wiltshire), and 5% will go into an ocean clean-up project. All packaging is eco-friendly and plastic free.
