A man who was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries last Tuesday (16 December) after being on the tracks at Kingston Railway Station has reportedly survived the incident.

In an update on Friday (19 December), a British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said that his injuries are no longer life-threatening, but he remains in hospital at this time.

All train services from the station on Tuesday were disrupted or cancelled for several hours during the incident.

At the time, a spokesperson for the BTP told Nub News: "Officers were called at around 8.15am this morning (16 December) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Kingston railway station.

"Officers responded with paramedics and a person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 8.15am on Tuesday (16 December) to reports of a person hit by a train at Kingston Station, KT1.

"We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London's Air Ambulance.

"We treated a man and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
