Sunday, Sept 10 – All-star show featuring some of the biggest names in British comedy.

A night of the best of British – and Australian - comedy starring TV favourites Adam Hills of The Last Leg, Rosie Jones, Kerry Godliman and Michelle Shaughnessy.

It is being organised by TV's Mark Olver on behalf of the family of a TV industry friend's family, who live in Twickenham.

He said: "My friend is one of the most loved people in TV, her work makes some of those comedy shows we all know and love.

"Her teenage son is facing some incredible challenges and is being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

"They live locally to The Exchange so this is the perfect venue to celebrate and support them."

The money from the gig will be split between creating a fund for her son to live his best teenage life and the Royal Marsden.

Adam Hills encouraged people from the area to buy a ticket, adding: "This gig has been organised to help the son of one of the loveliest people in the TV industry. With some brilliant comedians.

"I'm so happy to be a part of it and would love you to come along if you are nearby to help support a friend and her family."

Turner's House, Twickenham

Thursday, Sept 8 - The infamous destruction of Turner's erotic art.

Museum Director, Matthew Morgan, discusses the burning of Turner's 'unsuitable' drawings, claimed to be the responsibility of art critic and artist John Ruskin.

To modern art lovers it appears to have been an act of prudish vandalism or misplaced hero worship.

Morgan places the destruction of Turner's erotic works, whether real or imagined, in the context of the destruction of many collections of letters and archives in the Victorian period.

Turner's House, Twickenham

July 9 – Oct 31 - Between the Sheets: Turner's Nudes

There have been rave reviews in the national press for this exhibition concentrating on a rarely seen side of Britain's greatest artist.

Loved as the master of landscapes and seascapes such as The Fighting Temeraire, Hannibal Crossing the Alps and Norham Castle, few know that Turner's sketchbooks also contain depictions of the female form.

Yet Turner was a compulsive recorder of his life and travels, and produced drawings and watercolours of models, sexual encounters, literary fantasies, and his lovers such as Sophia Booth.

This small-scale exhibition is one of the first to look at Turner's engagement with the naked female form, specifically within intimate and erotic contexts and provides invaluable insight into the man, and his attitude to and relationship with women.

This exhibition is possible thanks to a generous loan from Tate.

With a plastic compass and Dad's ashes at her side, Rory sets off in the footsteps of all the dead beardy explorers before her, to get Dad to the North Pole. Before Mum finds out they've gone.
