A team of cyclists has raised over £9,000 after completing a challenge to complete 100 circuits of Richmond Park.

The effort was designed to support the work of Richmond's Poppy Factory, which is celebrating 100 years of supporting veterans.

The riders finished 105 laps of Richmond Park in just six hours, so smashing their original target of 100 laps in 10 hours.

Their ambitious effort was led by Jeff Short, Director of Production and the Estate at The Poppy Factory, who wanted to raise funds our charity's centenary year.

His committed co-riders included the charity's supporters, Richmond residents and colleagues. Together they raised more than £9,000 to help veterans with health conditions change their lives through employment support.

Jeff said: "We were supported by a range of folks, drinks marshals, lap recorders and general morale boosters …. as we reached the end on wobbly bikes but with smiling faces. Thank you all for your support, it is very much appreciated."

The Poppy Factory thanked all those involved and everyone who made a donation.
