Edward and Rowan Draper have entered the record books – albeit at the more bizarre end of human endeavour.

For the father and son employed perfect timing and teamwork to become the fastest pair to hang up ten items of clothing as a team of two.

The Turk's Head pub was the location for the world record attempt in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Edward said: "My wonderful son, Rowan, has a heart condition and we are working to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

"A few years ago, we challenged ourselves to get a formal World Record. Earlier this year, Guinness agreed to our challenge -hanging clothes as a team of two."

The previous record stood at 1 minute 8.69 seconds while Edward and Rowan managed to smash the record on their third attempt with a time of just 56 seconds.

There were two independent timekeepers from St Mary's University on hand, while the Mayor of Richmond, Geoff Acton, was an independent witness to ensure a valid attempt and time.

The pair had originally set a fundraising target of £1,000 but have so far raised in excess of £2,600 which placed them in the top 5% of fundraising on the JustGiving site.
