An area has been set aside outside the Council’s York House headquarters to accept floral tributes and books of condolences have been opened.
The Poppy Factory in Richmond, which was first visited by the then Princess Elizabeth in 1946, has offered its profound condolences.
Parishioners at St Anne’s Kew gathered for a service to mark the passing of the Queen and concluded by singing the nation’s new anthem.
Bells will ring out at noon, church services will be held and several local events have been cancelled as the nation enters a period of 10 days of mourning.
The flags over civic buildings in Richmond are flying at half-mast today and church bells will toll at noon to mark the passing of the Queen.
Tributes are being paid to the Queen and her service to the country from people across the borough.
