IN PICTURES: Euro 2020 final at Wembley as captured by Twickenham Nub News journalist

By The Editor 13th Aug 2021

"I feel like my stomach has been ripped out" were the words of England Manager Gareth Southgate following last night's defeat in the Euro 2020 final.

Many fans across Twickenham can surely empathise with him after the emotional rollercoaster of an early goal for England at three minutes in followed by a heartbreaking Italy equaliser in the 67th minute leading to a tense penalty shoot out.

Nub News journalist and Teddington resident Stuart Higgins was there to watch the highs and the lows and has shared his pictures with us.

Local photographer Mark Gough, who captured these incredible images of 200 England flags at Towfield Court in Feltham, commented to Nub News: "We did so well taking Italy who are unbeaten in 34 games right to the wire so can be really proud of the team.

"Fingers crossed we can go that one step further in the world Cup."
