In homes and pubs across Twickenham on Wednesday the joyous cheer of England fans could be heard.
It was, in the words of Times writer Matt Dickinson, "a roar of euphoria 55 years in the making" as the final whistle blew at Wembley - putting England into their first international final since 1966.
Punters at Twickenham pubs and homes all gathered to watch England beat Denmark 2-1, and bookings will surely be flooding in for the final against Italy this Sunday July 11.
But one local resident got a closer view than most.
Nub News contributor Stuart Higgins was cheering England on at Wembley.
The SporTedd chair and keen cyclist, 65, had seats near the touchline with his son Robbie.
Stuart told Nub News it was "a privilege and an emotional rollercoaster to witness England's well-earned triumph at Wembley last night.
"Feisty Denmark fought until the end but Gareth Southgate's calm tactics won the day again.
"After such a long period of being unable to see live sport much less a history making game like tonight the fans, young and old, were united in hysteria and pride.
"The players lit up Wembley but the patient and expectant fans kept the light shining.
"This Sunday is not a day of rest."
You can see Stuart's photos from the evening in the gallery above, including his encounters with actor Damian Lewis and legendary commentator John Motson who were both at the match.
