Ten St Mary's University Twickenham alumni competing at this years' Olympic Games
St Mary's University in Twickenham's Strawberry Hill has been the training ground for many international sporting stars over the years.
Among its famous students past and present are Sir Mo Farah, Monty Panesar, and Moe Sbihi MBE.
At this year's Olympics there are ten of the university's alumni competing.
Olmympic Rowers
- Matilda Horn
- Karen Bennett
Alumna Karen Bennett is also a Sports Rehabilitation graduate. She won Silver in the Women's Eight at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and will competing in the Women's Four in Tokyo.
- Moe Sbihi
- Emma Uren
Alumna Emma Uren studied Strength and Conditioning at St Mary's and graduated in 2020. In 2018, she captained her team to their first victory against France at the U20s Championships and this year she will make her Olympic debut in the Women Rugby Sevens squad in Tokyo.

- Revee Walcott-Nolan
Alumna Revee Walcott-Nolan is an EPC athlete who studied Sport Science at St Mary's and graduated in 2016. She won the Women's 1500m at the British Championships and will make her Olympic debut in the Women's 1500m in Tokyo.

- Steph Twell
St Mary's Alumna Steph Twell studied Strength and Conditioning. She will be competing in the Marathon at her third Olympic games having made her debut at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 where she competed in the Women's 1500m, then at the Rio Games in 2016, where she competed in the Women's 5000m.

- Corrine Hall
Alumna Corrine Hall MBE, who studied Sport Science will also be competing at The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games which will be her second games having won and gold and bronze medals as a pilot for Lora Turnham in the Tandem Cycling 3000m Individual Pursuit B and the 30km Time Trial B respectively.
Also competing are friends and affiliates of the university, Jake Wightman and David Weir CBE. Wightman is an Endurance Performance Centre affiliate and regularly trains at St Mary's. He won bronze in the 1500m at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and will make his Olympic debut in the Men's 1500m in Tokyo. Weir is a friend of St Mary's who has trained and undertaken physiological testing at the university for a number of years. He has been selected to compete in the T54 1500m, 5000m and Marathon events at this year's Paralympics. He has had an illustrious career having won a total of ten medals including six Gold medals.
