England are set to kick off this year's Guinness Women's Six Nations on their home turf at the Allianz Stadium against Ireland on 11 April.

Fans will be seeing the Red Roses for the first time since their World Cup victory in September last year, with the reigning world champions now chasing an eighth consecutive Six Nations title.

The Allianz Stadium is set to host a record breaking crowd with 75,000 tickets already sold for Saturday's opening fixture.

A spokesperson from the Rugby Football Union (RFU) said: "The outstanding level of interest means the fixture is set to break the attendance record for a non‑World Cup international in women's rugby, a powerful sign of the momentum behind the women's game."

The match is on course to become the most attended standalone women's international game outside of the World Cup.

The surge in demand for tickets follows the historic 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham, where England defeated Canada 33-13 in front of over 81,000 fans.

The club's success is more than just a moment, it has boosted female momentum into the sport and encouraged the younger generation to get involved.

From lifelong fans to first-time attendees, voices across Twickenham suggest the Women's Six Nations is no longer a secondary event, but a defining moment for the sport.

A local Twickenham resident explained: "People used to dismiss women's rugby, but when you see the amount of people now watching and attending games, it proves the problem was never the sport, it was the lack of attention.

"It gives young girls something to believe in and has surely inspired my little girl to not let anything stop her from achieving what she wants."

Rugby, like many other sports and parts of society, however, is still not immune to sexism or cultural issues.

The RFU are committed to tackling challenges by working closely with partners like Women in Sport on inclusive behaviours and taking more steps to encourage women and girls to get involved with sport.

By providing an inclusive environment where women and girls are supported, respected and have the ability to thrive in rugby has led to the RFU to now have over 25,000 registered age grade girls playing rugby across the country, which is a 14% increase.

Research commissioned by BBC Sport and carried out by YouGov has revealed that 24 million people in the UK now identify as women's sports fans.

This has significantly increased, as portrayed by the 2021 figures that showed 18 million were women's sports fans.

There is a growing appetite for the women's games following England's consecutive wins and this did more than break attendance and viewership records it helped actively shift the perception of women's rugby highlighting it as a place where women and girls truly belong.
