Home sellers in Twickenham and surrounding areas have been cutting their asking prices by almost £20,000 on average, according to data.

Data based on 2,107 property transactions between August 2025 and August 2026 has revealed where sellers have been reducing their prices the most.

The figures compare initial asking prices listed on major UK property portals with the eventual sold prices recorded by HM Land Registry.

They track the process from a property first being listed through viewings, negotiations and offers to the final sale.

The biggest average reductions in the area were recorded in the TW5 postcode, which covers parts of Hounslow.

Across the area, 42 sellers reduced their properties by an average of £21,932, equivalent to 3.91% of the initial asking price, in the 12 months to August 2026.

Meanwhile, 156 sellers in Twickenham (TW2) reduced their sale price by 2.73% - which is around £19,118 less from the initial asking price.

However, the lowest average reductions were in TW14, covering Feltham.

Some 83 sellers in the area reduced their asking prices by an average of £10,654, or 2.48%, to secure a sale.

FSG Estate Agent's Fran Sturla, told Nub News the figures showed buyers had gained greater negotiating power.

He said: "The figures point to a market in which buyers have gained negotiating leverage and sellers need to be increasingly realistic about pricing.

"They do not, by themselves, demonstrate a broad decline in property values."

The data is based on completed sales lodged with HM Land Registry and is updated monthly.
