You may have seen Darren Bartlett's face around Twickenham, or in one of his virtual property tours. If you've met Darren, you'll know he's quite the charmer and if anyone could convince our PM Boris to get a haircut, Darren would be your man. But what's it like behind the scenes in his Boutique Real Estate agency?

Darren set up Darren Bartlett Real Estate to offer something different to traditional high street agencies. As the business is growing and demand increasing for his personal touch, he recently brought in a few new team members, Lisa as his Virtual Assistant, and Lauren as his Marketing Manager.

We speak with Lauren and Lisa to find out what it's like 'behind the scenes' at Darren Bartlett Real Estate.

Lisa Sampson, Virtual Assistant

How did you end up working with Darren?

"I joined the team not quite knowing what I was letting myself in for, having never worked in Real Estate before, but I have been pleasantly surprised.

"I met Darren during the first lockdown at a Zoco Networking event. We arranged a 1:1 where we discussed our businesses and we just clicked.

"A few months later another client recommended me as a Virtual Assistant and as they say, the rest is history."

What sort of work do you do?

"I look after the administration behind the scenes ensuring that Darren can be out doing what he does best.

"I will handle the agreements, property listings on the portals and website, speak with buyers and sellers to keep them updated and generally support Darren on a day to day basis."

What do you like about working with Darren?

"Working with Darren is always good fun and we have a good laugh together most days.

"He has walked me through everything in the business and I am learning more from him every day.

"I love the passion and drive that Darren has for his business and the local community. For me it is important to work with business owners who have a passion for helping others which Darren has in bucket loads."

How did you end up working with Darren?

"I originally met Darren through a brilliant local networking group called Kindred.

"I immediately noticed how much fun he brought to the virtual Zoom brunches. He lit up the virtual Zoom room - his positivity was infectious.

"It was after I gave a talk about creating a system for your social media that he asked if I'd like to come on board and help run his marketing and social media.

"Whilst I tend to work more with clients in Wellness, I knew straight away that I would love to work with Darren due to his approach, and the way he runs the business."

What sort of work do you do?

"I help run his social media accounts- creating content and sharing in local groups. I also update his website and set up emails, free downloads, help prepare marketing material for promotions and events. Basically anything marketing-related that he needs."

What do you like about working with Darren?

"He is totally transparent and shares everything with Lisa and I so we can best support- I am learning a lot through working with him.

"We always have a good laugh on our team calls, and I am proud to be part of his team.

"He is always learning and taking online courses and works with a coach – I strongly believe in order to be successful, you need to keep learning!

"His commitment and passion in supporting the local community really underpins all he does and is important to me as well. I used to run a co-working club in the area, and I strongly believe post-lockdown we all really need a strong sense of community and support of local businesses.

"I think Darren's model for estate agency and property marketing is just what the market needs and I know that he genuinely offers a much better experience for selling / buying property than we've come to expect."
