Hanworth Villa's late goal was not enough for them to fight back from two goals behind against Burgess Hill Town causing them to be knocked out of the FA Trophy.
Dan Perry scored after just six minutes to get the Hillians off to a perfect start before Martyn Box added a second less than twenty minutes from time to make it more comfortable.
The Villains fought back as Jonathan Hippolyte scored three minutes later to give Hanworth a glimmer of hope, but they were unable to find a leveller.
Defeat sends Hanworth out of the FA Trophy in the final qualifying round, ending a memorable run that included a last-minute winner against Littlehampton Town and a convincing win away against Northwood.
It was a nightmare start for the Villains at the More Than Tyres Stadium when Lewis Finney drove into space and laid it off to Perry who slotted calmly into the bottom corner and gave Burgess Hill the lead after six minutes.
Hanworth nearly struck back when a long ball forward was knocked down by Sam Merson and Tommy Reid was forced into a strong save down to his right to deny Tom Scott's low drive.
The Villains were on top and as the second half began, they came close again when a corner was swung in towards the near post and Tom Bender's flicked header went just over the connection.
The Burgess Hill door was nearly cracking with all the knocking on it that Hanworth were doing but once again they could not quite find the back of net when sloppy play by the hosts ended in Kieron Rowe playing a poor pass back to his defenders and Hippolyte nipped in and just failed to pull his shot back far enough and hit the side netting.
The onslaught continued as another Hanworth corner caused trouble in the middle and as it dropped in the middle a leg swung out and sent the ball just over the top from point blank range.
With twenty minutes to go the away side were made to pay for not taking their chances when Box was sent in down the left and finished clinically across Terry Buss.
The response did not take long as another Hanworth corner caused havoc and the keeper and Hippolyte both challenged for the ball and with minimal contact from either the ball swung into the net.
