Tabai Matson felt Harlequins never got into their breakdown in their 27-19 defeat against Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership.
Leicester had come into the game off the back of two straight defeats but they delivered a big response to comfortably beat Quins at the Stoop.
Matson gave credit to their opposition for their victory and said they prevented his team from ever getting into their breakdown.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, he said: "I think that was Leicester at their best, they squeezed the life out of us and we didn't get any chance to get into our game.
Partly because of us, but a lot to do with that they did to the breakdown and their patience and tenacity to do their jobs really well.
"We were missing all of the breakdown, we were hitting the wrong guys, our clean was slow, and we weren't physical in the carry.
"That is what we will be concentrating on on Tuesday, you can't function against a team like that if you can't get fast ball and they just squeezed the hell out of us.
"At times we did get good ball and there were moments there but ultimately for them it is going to be an 80-minute performance.
"We knew we had to be at our best and we clearly weren't and that score line is flattering."
Matson did say that he was not overly concerned about the performance and that they have the chance to put it right quickly against Sale Sharks.
He said: "I think you always have to focus on the next week, that is the beauty of our sport that you get another chance to right the wrongs and move forward.
"Clearly, we have some key focuses there that we will get right this week and we have to as you can't function in a game like that if you don't get your breakdown sorted."
