Concert for Mental Health

Progressive folk rock band, Kindred Spirit Band, will be performing their brand new, uplifting, mental health adventure, concept album, "The Journey Within", in its entirity, at this album launch concert. The beautiful songs and artwork on this album were written and composed by band founder and singer / songwriter, Elaine Samuels. Images from the album artwork will be projected behind the band, enhancing the lighting and atmosphere of the show on the night.

"The Journey Within is an involving and enthralling journey that is, in effect, the essence of life distilled into musical form"

Martin Hutchinson, The Progressive Aspect

Elaine has featured on television, radio, Glastonbury and Liverpool's Cavern Club, while the full band have featured at Cambridge Rock Festival and The Exchange, Twickenham to name a few. "Kindred Spirit Band" weave electric guitar sound scapes and flute / sax / cello, with "perceptive and intriguing" song-writing, driving rhythms and "haunting and bewitching" female vocals.

Their sound has been likened to Fleetwood Mac, Their sound has been likened to Renaissance, Jethro Tull and the Moody Blues, and the band sound has been described as,

"Creative, progressive folk-rock with some extraordinarily beautiful songs and a host of imaginative and wonderfully crafted ideas…Written for our generation",Neil Mach, Ad Pontes magazine.

"One of the best folk rock acts in activity in the UK"Prog Rock and Prog Metal Zine"Weave wonderful stories from seemingly phantasmagorical realms in the most engaging of manners… warms the heart",

Jerry Ewing, Prog magazine.

They will be supported by the wonderful Dandelion Charm, who also recently released their own, beautiful, mental health themed album, "Scream Inside The Tear". Dandelion Charm blend folk, prog and rock, with a sound reminiscent of the late '60s and early '70's. Think Fleetwood Mac meets Opeth, CSN meets Yes.

"Intricate harmonies and epic outros tell emotional stories of disfunction, joy and despair".

MikeFive (New Music Saturday)

Tonight, on "World Mental Health Day", we will be raising funds for the charity Richmond Mind.

Kindred Spirit Band are hoping, with their new album story, to show what experiencing a severe mental health condition can feel like from the inside, so increasing understanding and appreciation of this illness. They will also take the audience on a dive deeper into the mind, through a portal, on an epic adventure to find healing and a way back to reality. As the journey progresses through a fantastic dreamworld, we overcome obstacles and meet magical characters, most of whom give us helpful, uplifting advice.
