Anne Sebba

Wednesday 17 November 2021

19:30 - 21:30

New York Times bestselling author Anne Sebba will be discussing her moving biography of Ethel Rosenberg, the wife and mother whose execution for espionage-related crimes were said to have defined the cold war and horrified the world. Ethel and her husband were found guilty of spying for the Soviet Union in 1953 despite very questionable evidence. Seventy years after her trial this is the first time Ethel's story has been told. Simon Sebag Montefiore has described this biography as 'Absolutely gripping in so many ways; beautifully written and superbly researched, a brilliant and a fresh take on a famous case.'
