Twickenham Cinema Club presents.....'In a Lonely Place' (1950)
The Venue, Heatham House, Whitton Road, Twickenham TW1 1BH
UNTIL Tuesday 8th February
In a return to our regular screenings, Twickenham Cinema Club is pleased to show the Film Noir feature: 'In a Lonely Place', as voted for by our members in 2021. This is a rare opportunity to see this black and white classic on the big screen - in your own neighbourhood!
In a dark and compelling drama, set in 1940s Hollywood, Humphrey Bogart plays Dixon Steele, a screenwriter who is drawn into a murder investigation, and for whom a neighbour (an elegant performance by Gloria Grahame) provides a vital alibi. As their relationship develops, doubt and suspicion create tension, danger and tortuous decisions in a true 'noir' atmosphere.
We are a friendly, local community cinema club that focuses on bringing great films to the big screen in a sociable - and socially distanced - setting. Our films range from recent award winners and those you've missed, to classic art film and unusual features that you won't always find on Netflix.
Membership is free - you don't need to become a member to attend our screenings - and we aim to keep our tickets prices low, to below £10, for each screening with Early Bird ticket prices. To join and receive special offers and prior notice of our films, as well as invitations to social events, please email [email protected]
