Keep your eyes peeled for a flashmob of dancers who will take to the streets today, Saturday June 10, in several secret locations in Richmond borough including Twickeham to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Professional contemporary and urban dancers from London's Combination Dance Company and the Rambert School will be performing as the finale of a "moving virtual promenade performance" called Star Cells.

Nub News will be filming the dancers live from the secret locations over on our Facebook Page.

It also marks the launch of Richmond council's #RichmondLive project, a celebration of music, dance and theatre in Richmond upon Thames taking place throughout the summer. The flashmob tour has been funded by Richmond Council.

Today's performances follow an impressive flashmob in St Pancras station last month.

Dancers were joined at St Pancras by Deputy Mayor of Richmond Councillor Suzette Nicholson ahead of their appearance in the Richmond borough today.

Inspired by the exciting and ground-breaking research into neuroscience taking place at The Francis Crick Institute London and at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), Star Cells uses dance and film to inform and illustrate the science of how the body moves and reacts, the project conveys the impact of neuromuscular diseases in a powerful visual medium that raises awareness of these conditions.
