Twickenham businesses are working together to promote independent shops and encourage people to spend locally.

One social media initiative has resulted in central Twickenham resident Carmel winning a £100 TwickTraders voucher to spend at her favourite shop in the Discover Twickenham BID area.

Carmel was thrilled to win and chose to spend all her winnings at Mojo in Church Street.

"I never win anything so this means so much," she said. "My boys told me to treat myself."

Mojo manager Chris was equally delighted. "We're so thrilled that Carmel chose to spend this month's £100 TwickTraders voucher with Mojo," he said.

"It's a great little boost for our business and just one example of what Twickenham businesses can achieve by working together.

"Thanks to Natasha at Discover Twickenham BID for co-ordinating this and good luck to all Twickenham businesses for next month's draw."
