High-style, popping colours, fashion and art are at the heart of the offer from The Optical Gallery, Twickenham.

The company has adopted a fresh approach through partnerships with artisanal and specialist designers – adding excitement to shopping for eyewear.

And they will soon be launching an exhibition of frames from the exclusive Sabine Be collection, which are hugely popular in France and Belgium.

Nicos said: "We focus more on niche eyewear, things that you can't find readily available in the UK.

"Our method is to try and have fun with it, to turn a medical necessity into a style accessory. You can still have fun with your frames and show your personality through your eyewear.

"Most opticians will allow customers to wander through the store and help select their own frames from rows and rows of glasses that all tend to look the same.

Some of the stylish frames available in store.

"In contrast we only have a few frames on display and we prefer to sit and get to know the customer as a person.

"We will find out what you like to wear, your hobbies, what you do for a living and from that information we will start doing an eyewear discovery with you.

"Our clients will treat eyewear like a pair of shoes. You wouldn't wear trainers to a wedding, you wear different shoes to compliment different outfits and we help show our clients how different eyewear fits into different aspects of their lifestyle.

"That could be different frames for work, or a wedding, for the club or even just for downtime."

Nicos said: "Our clients are very varied in terms of age with different styles preferred by different groups; for instance, the younger clientele often prefer a chunkier frame with some bling whereas the older are embracing a pop of colour in their eyewear."

Discussing the Sabine Be event from July 8-15, he said: "We have various events throughout the year which we call exhibitions in keeping with the art gallery style of the business.

The launch event is a great opportunity for like-minded eyewear enthusiasts to get together, view and try a unique range.

"This event is for a French brand, which is really colourful and playful, sexy even. They cater to both men and women.

"You can't really find them in the UK but they are massive in France and Belgium and other European countries so we are proud to be able to bring it to the UK just for one week.

"They have asked us to do it because they love our approach to optics as it matches their branding."

Nicos said: "A lot of customers in the past used to dread hearing that they need to visit the opticians for an eye-test, but our clients are excited to hear from us and throwing these events is an appreciation."

The family has been running optician businesses since 1996. The three brothers took over from their father Marios and mother Julia in 2015.
