A fire involving around 10 tonnes of paper broke out at Richmond Council's Central Depot in Twickenham.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the recycling bay at the depot on Langhorn Drive at around 7:56am on Friday, 14 August.
Two fire engines from Twickenham fire station attended the incident, the Brigade confirmed.
LFB said its 999 Control officers received the first of 22 calls about the fire.
Around 10 tonnes of paper was alight, but there were no reports of any injuries and the fire was extinguished by 10:22am.
Richmond Council said the fire in the recycling area was under control, although residents in the surrounding area may have seen smoke or soot.
Via its website, the Council said: "We would like to thank London Fire Brigade for its swift response and the emergency services and staff involved in managing the situation."
