More than two dozen firefighters were called to an incident in Twickenham this afternoon (Tuesday, January 26).

The London Fire Brigade sent crews in four engines to Richmond Road shortly before 2pm.

The firefighters taped off Lebanon Park and were at work a little way down the road.

The fire service said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with flats above on Richmond Road in Twickenham.

"A small part of the ground floor of a three-storey building was damaged by the fire. Six people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

"The brigade was called at 1.47pm and the fire was under control by 3.34pm. Fire crews from Twickenham, Richmond and Heston fire stations were at the scene.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
