Fancy a game of nine-pin skittles?

Soon you will be able to play with replica pins at Marble Hill Park surrounded by pear trees for free!

The bowling alley is being installed in the fourth, south-west woodland area - a space previously inaccessible and unmanaged which is being largely cleared and replanted.

Nine-pin bowling was a fashionable Georgian pastime which Henrietta Howard, the 18th century owner of Marble Hill House, would take part in with friends and acquaintances.

The park said: "Delighted to see the 9 pin bowling alley taking shape on site. All works made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund - thank you."

As we reported, Marble Hill Park is undergoing a £6 million transformation.
