By Cesar Medina 15th Feb 2026
Aldi has formally submitted an application to put up its signs at the old Homebase store in Hanworth.
Following approval to covert the building into an Aldi location and a second unit on 19 December 2025, the supermarket chain has put forward plans to display advertisement.
On behalf of Aldi, Hazel Whitfield-Green from the The Harris Partnership said: "The majority of the signs proposed replace existing signs located on the building and within the wider site.
"The overall height of totems has been matched to existing totems, and the size and style of directional signage within the site has been matched to existing the signs.
"Consideration has been given to space for signage for the 2nd unit on the proposed totems to ensure the holistic treatment of the signage across the wider site.
"The full details of the signs related to unit two are not known at this time, however we wish to secure the principle of the locations and style of these totem.
"The details of these signs will be applied for at a later date as part of a separate application."
Homebase in Hanworth shut its door in March last year after the company went into in administration in November 2024
A decision for this application is expected to be announced on 24 March 2026. To read the full application click here.
