Twickenham Choral is set to host an atmospheric evening of music this July with a special concert, Nocturnes: British and American Choral Music, taking place at St Mary's Church, Twickenham.

The concert begins at 7pm on Saturday, 5 July, and will be followed by a drinks reception for attendees to enjoy.

This season-closing performance will see the choir joined by soprano Emma Tring, pianist Nick Salwey, and conducted by their new musical director Howard Ionascu.

The programme includes a stirring mix of choral works from both sides of the Atlantic, with music by Lauridsen, Whitacre, Harris (Faire is the Heaven), Wood, and local composer Roxanna Panufnik.

The concert marks the culmination of Ionascu's first season with Twickenham Choral after he took up the baton in September 2024, succeeding Christopher Herrick, who led the choir for an incredible 50 years.

This concert promises a more intimate and varied repertoire than the large-scale sell-out performances held earlier in the season.

Some tickets remain and can be booked via the choir's website: www.twickenhamchoral.org.uk
