A big screen experience is coming to the riverside in Twickenham bringing people together for everything from watching Wimbledon to keeping children entertained.

The screen is being erected in the Diamond Jubilee Gardens and will operating from 11am to 10pm every day from June 28 through to July 10.

The initiative is the brainchild of Twickenham businesses working together under the banner of Discover Twickenham BID.

Organisers said the screen will offer action from Wimbledon, children's films, classic movies and more as residents gather on the long summer evenings.

They said: "We've made this so easy, you won't even have to pack a picnic! Food and drink will be available on site at the Diamond Jubilee Gardens in Twickenham - sit back, and relax."

The organisation has been seeking local volunteers, possibly students, to control the screen and look after the area for four hour shifts through the two week event.

Discover Twickenham is a non-profit organisation that works towards the promotion and success of Twickenham town centre and its businesses.
