Christmas tree collections will run in Twickenham from Monday 6 to Friday 17 January 2025, on the garden waste collection day for your street.

This service is free, and you do not need to require a garden waste contract to have your tree collected and recycled.

All trees must be presented in a front garden visible from the pavement (if you have one) or on the pavement by your entrance.

But you should ensure you do not cause an obstruction by only putting your tree out on your collection day.

Trees should be left out after 8pm on the day before the collection is due, and by 6am on the collection day.

Trees are sent for composting, so Richmond Council will not collect your tree if it is:

  • Plastic/not real
  • Still decorated
  • In soil or a pot/stand
  • Over 6ft (cut into smaller pieces)

If you live in a block of flats, you can take your Christmas tree to a drop-off point

If this is not possible, the council will collect trees left where they are visible from the road.

If there are a number of trees, the council advises you create a pile taking care not to cause an obstruction.
