Richmond Council has granted prior approval for the conversion of a ground floor office into four residential flats in Hampton Hill.

The application, submitted by FORM Design Group on behalf of Mr Lunnon, proposes transforming the commercial space along Uxbridge Road—close to the Hanworth Road junction—into two two-bedroom apartments and two one-bedroom bedsits.

Each two-bedroom unit will feature an open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and an en-suite, with a gross internal area (GIA) of 61m².

The one-bedroom bedsits, located at the rear of the building, will each offer a double bed space, kitchen, lounge, and bathroom, with a GIA of 38m².

The proposed works include subdividing the internal layout and installing appliances suitable for residential use. No external changes have been proposed.

At present, the site consists of a central entrance lobby leading to two large interconnected open-plan office spaces, divided by a central kitchenette.

There are male and female toilets, and a reception area with double doors that lead to a storage room.

In its planning statement, FORM Design Group said: "This site offers an opportunity to optimise the use of urban land by providing much-needed housing in a highly sustainable location, an approach encouraged by the council."
