Emergency roadworks across Twickenham and Hampton causing closures

Drivers in Twickenham and Hampton are being warned to expect disruption this week due to a series of emergency roadworks affecting key routes.
Fifth Cross Road closed near Staines Road
Fifth Cross Road in Twickenham is currently closed outside number 81, close to the junction with Staines Road, to allow emergency gas works to take place.
A local diversion route has been put in place while the works are carried out.
The estimated completion date for the repairs is 17 February 2026.

Temporary traffic lights on Lower Sunbury Road
In Hampton, Thames Water is dealing with an emergency water leak on Lower Sunbury Road, opposite Gate C of the water treatment plant.
Traffic is being controlled by temporary multi-way traffic lights to allow repairs to be carried out safely.
The works are expected to be completed by 16 February 2026.

Gas leak works near Allianz Stadium
Meanwhile in Twickenham, Cadent Gas is attending a gas leak at 232 Whitton Road, near Allianz Stadium.
Traffic is currently being managed using two-way temporary signals, which are being manually operated to help ease congestion.
These works are expected to be completed by 18 February 2026.
