Event of the Week: Eel Pie Island open day

Since indoor venues have been allowed to reopen their doors we have seen a host of events going on throughout Twickenham and across the country.

Of course, yet again some events have been postponed and cancelled due to the government's announcement last Monday that it will further delay the easing of lockdown.

But you can still find all sorts of Covid-safe events going on, from concerts to plays to cooking classes to sporting events, on our newly revamped What's On section.

Our top pick for this week is the chance to meet some of the artists on Eel Pie Island at the Open Studios this weekend!

The island, usually private and residents-only, is open up to the public for a chance to have a wander around and buy, or commission, works from the artists who live or work there.

The event organisers say it's: "A chance to meet the artists of Eel Pie Island in their natural habit. See how they work, interact with each other and engage with the world around them (said in the voice of David Attenborough)."

Covid restrictions will be in place and most of the artwork will be displayed outside.

Numbers are limited due to Covid.
