After a two-year pandemic absence, Zippo's Circus has finally made its long anticipated return to Twickenham Green

This year the circus is back on the road with Carnival, which is a big top tour presented by Brazilian showman, Paulo Dos Santos, a performer for several years who is taking charge as ringmaster for the first time.

Paulo presents a fast-moving spectacle promising astonishing acrobats and aerialists, along with a comedy and daredevil motorcyclists, who come together from all corners of the world for this year's colourful production.

This includes the spectacular Globe of Speed where the team of daring motorcyclists perform high-velocity stunts alongside knife throwing and even highjinks in their Flying Machine from the incredible Garcia family.

The circus tent will stay on Twickenham Green until Sunday with two shows on weekdays and three on both Saturday and Sunday.

Due to the pandemic and various on and off lockdown restrictions, the circus has missed its normal annual slot in the borough two years running.

Local photographer and journalist, Cathy Cooper, tweeted her excitement: "This is the most wonderful form of entertainment. Catch it if you can for a big dose of happiness."

Pricing for the event is as follows:

2-14 years - £13

Adults - £17

Children aged under 2 go free providing they sit on parent or guardian's lap

Zippos Circus has also been awarded the Visit England 'We're Good to Go' Industry Standard mark, which verifies that the circus has met the Government and public health guidance on COVID-19 to ensure a safe and enjoyable time throughout.
