The brand behind a popular British podcast has applied to host a festival in Richmond.

We are Happy Place Ltd, the company behind Fearne Cotton's popular Happy Place brand, has submitted an application to host the Happy Place Festival at Richmond's Old Deer Park across one weekend in the summer.

The company is seeking permission to host live and recorded music between 8:30am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Regarding live music, We are Happy Place Ltd said: "There will be both amplified and unamplified music on an outdoor stage.

"There is mixed content that runs on this stage throughout the day, and live music does not normally occur for longer than a 1-hour period between 08:30 and 18:00, with the level averaging 90dB at the sound desk."

In regards to recorded music, it added: "There will be amplified and unamplified music on one outdoor stage and a variety of temporary structures, including but not limited to tipis and marquees.

"The content of these structures includes workshops, classes, talks, podcast recordings, craft and exercise. The music is a range of very low-level background music for meditating and slightly higher levels for exercise classes."

We are Happy Place Ltd is also seeking permission to host dance performances during the same times.

It continued: "Dance demonstrations may take place to recorded music inside temporary structures or on the outside stage at various points throughout the event.

"The Talk Stage covers thought-provoking talks, discussions, and panels, including live podcast recordings.

"Centre Stage and Expressive Arts area showcase a broad selection of entertainment and inclusive activities.

"The Expressive Arts area is the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in live music, poetry, book readings, and spoken word then finish off your day at the festival with closing entertainment on the Centre Stage.

"Movement is the place to go for qi gong, barre, or Pilates, or just having a dance at the silent disco or other dance classes. If you're seeking somewhere to unleash your creativity, head to our Craft Workshops.

"Recharge batteries in the Sound Healing tepee where you can relax and uplift yourself with a curated selection of sound baths.

"We've curated a schedule of all varieties of yoga, from yin yoga, to face yoga, and even some laughter yoga, at our Yoga feature.

"The Meditation tepee offers a calming space for relaxation and soul searching.

"Guidance on good food and gut health can be found in the Nutrition Hub which offers intimate workshops with registered nutritionists to work through a range of different focuses.

"Lastly is an area dedicated to Hormones and navigating the effect they have on different people at different times in their lives.

"Most of our music is within structures and is either background or for exercise classes.

"The Centre stage is the only outdoor stage and does have a combination of recorded music for classes and a finishing music act, such as the Overtones between 5pm and 6pm. Average levels of music recorded at the previous edition of the festival was 80dB, 20 metres from the sound desk.

"Capacity will not exceed 3200 daily, to be agreed by local authority This is a fully ticketed public event Onsite ticket purchase facility, however over 97% of admission tickets are sold in advance."

We Are Happy Place Ltd has created a Safety Management Plan to comply with Richmond Council's Licensing Objectives.

Local residents have until tomorrow (Wednesday, 10 October) to make representations on this application.
