A crowdfunder has been launched to create a memorial bench on Twickenham Green in honour of Paul, Doris and Galen Rosenberg, the previous family behind Maple Leaf Pharmacy.
For over 50 years, the Rosenbergs dedicated their lives to caring for Twickenham residents as pharmacists.
Maple Leaf Pharmacy was started by Galen's parents, Paul and Doris Rosenberg. Paul was pharmacist owner and later taken over by his son Galen.
The initiative, organised by Anil Rokad and Dr Alex Hall, calls on residents to donate towards the memorial bench through their GoFundMe campaign.
Mr Rokad, who worked for Galen as a pharmacist employee for over 28 years and Dr Hall say approval for the bench from Richmond Council has been secured, with the only thing left to do is to reach their fundraising target.
So far, the campaign has raised £2,063 from 57 donations, with the target being £3,500.
The pair told Nub News: "The Galen Rosenberg Memorial Bench is a meaningful initiative to honour the Rosenberg family's legacy.
"For over 50 years, Paul, Doris, and Galen dedicated their lives to serving the community through Maple Leaf Pharmacy.
"They were more than just pharmacists; they genuinely cared about the health and wellbeing of everyone around them."
As of yet, no date has been confirmed for the unveiling, but it is hoped that it will take place in two to three weeks time.
Any additional money raised beyond the cost of the bench and plaque will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), a charity close to the family's heart after Galen Rosenberg's death from motor neurone disease.
Residents who wish to contribute can visit the GoFundMe page here.
