Signs at Twickenham's Poundland are down after it was announced in June that the company would be closing 68 of its shops across the UK.

The King Street branch officially closed its doors on 5 October following a clearance sale launched at the store and others.

Investment firm Gordon Brothers, took over the discount retailer and revealed it would close sites across the country, putting 1,300 jobs at risk.

To date, Poundland has shut 57 stores while placing 11 closures on hold.

The brand has said that the shop closures are due to landlords serving notice on Poundland at some of its locations.
