Garden waste collections have been cancelled in Twickenham for the third week in a row due to Covid-related absences.

Too many staff are isolating currently and crews are prioritising core waste and recycling collections in the borough this week.

All garden waste collections have been suspended until further notice and blue box collections were not made yesterday in a number of roads in the borough in Barnes, East Sheen, Mortlake and Richmond.

More information and how to report a missed collection can be found here.

Between July 15 and 21 a total of 3,205 contact tracing alert 'pings' were sent out in Richmond upon Thames warning recipients that they were at risk of having covid and needed to self isolate.

This was up on the previous week, between July 8 and 14, where a total of 2,938 contact tracing alerts were sent.

Symptoms were reported to the app 90 times in the week beginning Jul 21 and 465 positive test results were linked to the app. 1,041 negative results were linked to the app.

Data has not yet been released for the last week of July.

Usually those who are told to isolate because they have had a positive test or have been in close contact with some who have tested positive, must self isolate for 10 days.

If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, or have had a positive lateral flow test, you are advised to go for a PCR covid test. There are several centres across the borough including a temporary testing centre at Old Deer Park.
