A search party is being formed to find Hector, a one-year-old Dachshund, who has gone missing while being taken for a walk in Richmond Park.
Hector was with his dog sitter when he first went missing. She had taken him off the lead when he spotted some deer nearby and started to chase them, eventually getting lost.
Posts on Facebook concerning the missing dog have since confirmed 'he is not usually allowed off-leash as he is a known flight risk'.
Local citizens concerned for Hector's safety are setting up a team to search for him and are asking for any assistance from volunteers.
The search will take place by the Pen Ponds cafe at 9:30 am this Saturday making it the perfect chance for those staying after Parkrun to pitch in and help.
Hector's owners describe him as greyish brown with tan paws, mouth, ears and eyebrows. He was wearing a harness when he was lost, which is black with white piping and features a bone on the front.
He was last seen at around 10:00 Monday 25th in the TW10 area of Richmond Park. He is microchipped and has a friendly temperament.
There is currently a £2,500 reward for finding Hector and either bringing him home safe or taking him immediately to the nearest vet.
If you have seen Hector or have any information about his whereabouts please contact his owner Kim on 07828526595.
