Richmond Council has published details of planned highway maintenance works across Twickenham and surrounding areas that will take place during 2026 as part of its ongoing road and pavement improvement programme.

The works form part of the council's long-term investment in local infrastructure, aimed at improving road surfaces, pavements and safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

While some disruption is expected, the council says the improvements are essential to keeping local routes in good condition.

The following roads in and around Twickenham are currently scheduled for carriageway resurfacing or major maintenance:

  • Bridge Street (A305) – Hill Street to Willoughby Road
  • Grove Road – entire length
  • Mereway Road – entire length
  • South Road (B358) – Willington Road to Stanley Road
  • Broadway Avenue – entire length
  • Copthall Gardens – Heath Road to outside no. 70C
  • Sandycoombe Road – entire length
  • Richmond Road (A305) – St Margarets Road to outside no. 215
  • Woodbine Close – entire length
  • Fulwell Park Avenue – entire length
  • Staines Road (A305) – Gothic Road to First Cross Road

In addition to carriageway works, a number of footway and pavement improvements are also planned in the Twickenham area as part of the wider programme.

Exact dates and traffic management arrangements will be confirmed closer to the time.

Residents are advised to check the Richmond Council website for the latest updates and any changes to schedules.
