A former chiropractors in Twickenham could become a new home and have two houses built behind it, if plans are approved by Richmond Council.

Elstree Land has applied for planning permission to convert the ground floor unit at The Green into a new home, and for permission to build two, two-storey homes behind it.

If approved, the scheme would also see an extension built on the side of the existing building, allowing for another home to be built.

"The scheme prioritises the preservation of the building's heritage value," the application said.

It added: "In developing this site, Elstree Land is seeking to create a new environment which enhances both the landscape and the built character of the neighbourhood, delivering sustainable development for Twickenham."

The application says the chiropractors has been closed and vacant since November 2021, and already has a flat above it.

Plans show a two-storey extension to the side would provide another self-contained unit.

Meanwhile the workshops to the rear - described as being in an "unsuitable condition" - would be flattened to make way for the two new builds.
