Huge match day marquee to return to Twickenham pub

A Twickenham pub will once again get to temporarily install a marquee in its outdoor area during rugby match days.
The Shack on 68 London Road can erect a temporary marquee between 20 January to 20 March and 24 October to 31 December each year for a five year period during RFU event days at Allianz Stadium.
Following approval on its planning application, the pub can put up a 30 metre long, four metre high and nine metre wide marquee for punters to enjoy.
In their report a planning officer said the marquee would "not likely appear as incongruous" with the surrounding area and that it being temporary would "limit" visual impact.
In addition, The Shack has successfully applied to install a temporary marquee in the past with its last application coming in 2019, which was also for a five year period.
Alcohol cannot be purchased within the marquee other than on RFU event days and cannot be bought before 9am and after 9pm.
Before 8am throughout the week, customers should not be present Richmond Council said and the marquee must be cleared of all customers after 11:30pm Sundays to Thursdays and by midnight on Friday and Saturdays.
The Shack cannot play amplified music, use speakers or live music in the marquee at any time.
