There are just a few days left to support the High Tide Festival with the crowd funding campaign coming to a close.

As of this morning – Friday – the organisers at Eel Pie Records had raised some £9,700 towards the £12,000 target.

There are number of prize rewards for those who make substantial donations to support what has become the highlight of the summer for Twickenham.

Many have already been snapped up, but several sought-after options remain, including exclusive design High Tide sponsors T-shirt for those donating £50 and Robert Johnson prints created from an original artwork by star of High Tide and the 'best blues harmonica player in the UK' Errol Linton.

The many enthusiastic supporters have heaped praise on the event, which takes place on July 30 and has expanded its footprint with a number of new venues and stages.

One said: "High Tide Festival is the best thing to happen in Twickenham for many generations!

"It is a real benefit to local independent businesses as they do a roaring trade on the day. It is wonderful to see that this year a stage will go up on Twickenham Green which is a first."

The many enthusiastic supporters have heaped praise on the event, which takes place on July 30 and has expanded its footprint with a number of new venues and stages.

The festival attracts visitors from across London and has been steadily growing in scale since its creation in 2019 – only interrupted by the pandemic lock-down.

It is entirely free to attend and aims to seek out and showcase a diverse selection of the best young and established bands and musicians across 20 stages.

This year's main stage will feature the likes of the indie rock band, The Mystery Jets, who were formerly based on Eel Pie Island, as well as Afro-Caribbean Pop & R&B from Sabrina Francis, and VC Pines, who is also known as Jack Mercer, the smart, articulate alt-soul singer-songwriter.

Other stages will feature, Los Pistoleros, who have been called Britain's super-star Americana band and the British (even though two of them are Irish) answer to the Mavericks

Visitors can also enjoy Cherym, who serve up a zingy, fearless new recipe for pop rock, and Living Body, a Leeds-based vocal-harmonising hook-laden indie/pop/rock collective.

he festival is delivered thanks to a collaboration between Eel Pie Records, Discover Twickenham BID, Richmond Council, The Friends of Twickenham Green and a wide range of local Twickenham businesses.

The collaborative nature of this community led event means the funding comes entirely from local businesses, the council and through crowdfunding.

With rising prices across the board and the festival increasing in scale this year it is more important than ever that the festival has as much financial backing from the community as possible.

The festival is the brainchild of Kevin Phil, Eel Pie Records, who said: "We had a very clear ambition to be more than just a shop. We wanted to be a community hub, a focus for music locally and a foundation from which to catalyse music-based activities and events."
