New Lidl supermarket in East Twickenham shows its face!

It won't be long before a new supermarket opens in East Twickenham.

Lidl's arrival in Richmond Road has been years in the pipeline.

In 2016 the company published a three-minute computer-generated tour of the proposed site which you can watch at the top of this story.

The development includes space for a primary school on the first and second floors above the supermarket.

As we have reported, Deer Park School was set to move in in December, but the completion of the project has been delayed by as much as half a year.

The school now expects to relocate from its current location opposite Old Deer Park in time for the Spring term.

A spokesperson for Lidl did not specify an opening date when asked by Twickenham Nub News this week, but the supermarket's signature signage can be seen on the shop floor and it looks like there's not much longer to wait.
